It's been nearly a year since we bought our very first house in Nashville, TN. It's been a roller coaster of DIY renovations and repairs-- which is exactly what we wanted when we bought a house built in the '30s! So here is a one week countdown until our first house-versary highlighting the changes we've made this first year. We'll start out with the smaller stuff- typical things you do when you move someplace new and move on up to the big finale to celebrate on October 1st. Let the countdown begin!
Day 7: Paint
One of the very first things we did was paint our dining room. It was originally an ugly duo of red and yellow that we quickly covered up with black chalkboard paint on top and high-gloss black paint below. Huge improvement!
The other big paint job was Roger's office. That was a gross shade somewhere between cream and yellow. It needed a cooler, cleaner color to brighten it up.
I don't have a good 'after' picture of the office, but you you'll see more of later on in the countdown. Stay tuned tomorrow for the next installment of the 7 Day Countdown to our 1 Year House-versary!
